Southwest Florida International Airport sets another passenger record in April

It's happening every month in 2022. When the latest monthly passenger totals are released, guess what? Another record. April's passenger count was released on Thursday (May 26) and once again the needle was moved.

During April, 1,221,628 passengers traveled through RSW in Fort Myers. This was an increase of 10.4 percent compared to April 2021.
Year-to-date, passenger traffic is up 34 percent compared to last year.
Which carrier transported the most passengers?
The traffic leaders in April were:
- Delta with 267,699 total passengers.
- United (172,727)
- Southwest (170,801)
- JetBlue (154,100)
- American (130,291).
Southwest Florida International Airport had 9,994 aircraft operations, a decrease of 5.8 percent compared to April 2021.

An aircraft operation is the airborne movement of aircraft in controlled or noncontrolled airport terminal areas, and counts at en route fixes or other points where counts can be made.
RSW served more than 10.3 million passengers in 2021 and is one of the top 50 U.S. airports for passenger traffic.
A record 1,514,046 passengers arrived and departed, making March 2022 the busiest month for number of passengers in the 39-year history of the Fort Myers airport.
